1. Who we are
Coastal Scaffolding Systems collects only the personal information you send us to quote, hire, sell or erect Kwik-Stage scaffolding and formwork, and handles it under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
We are based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This policy covers coastalscaffolding.co.za, our online shop, and enquiries you send us by phone, email or WhatsApp.
2. Information we collect
We collect what you type into our forms or send us directly, plus basic data about how you use the site.
• Contact form: your name, telephone number, email address and message.
• “Request a Quote” form in the shop: your name, company, email address, phone number, quantity needed, additional details, and the product, SKU and page link you asked about.
• WhatsApp chat: your WhatsApp number, name and the messages you send.
• Phone and email: your number or email address and what you tell us.
• Site usage: pages visited, how you arrived (search, ad or link), device and browser type, and calls placed from the site.
3. How we use it
We use your information only to respond to you and run our business with you; we do not sell it.
• Reply to enquiries and prepare quotations
• Arrange hire, sales, delivery, erection and collection of scaffolding and formwork
• Invoice and collect payment
• Keep the website working, block spam, and see which pages and ads bring enquiries
4. Who we share it with
The website uses a few outside services, some based outside South Africa, which handle your information only to provide their service to us.
• FormSubmit delivers “Request a Quote” forms to our email and receives everything you enter in the quote form.
• WhatsApp (Meta) carries chats started from the site’s WhatsApp button and receives your number and messages.
• Google Analytics measures site visits using usage data and cookies.
• Google Ads measures which ads lead to calls and enquiries using usage data, cookies and calls placed from the site.
• Google Maps and Google Fonts show our location map and load the site’s fonts, and receive your IP address and browser details.
• CleanTalk filters spam from our forms and receives form entries and email addresses.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
5. Cookies and tracking
The site sets cookies to run the shop and to measure visits and ad results; you can block or delete them in your browser settings.
• Shop cookies (WooCommerce) remember your cart and record how you reached the site, such as a search, an ad or a link.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies count visits and track which ads lead to calls or enquiries.
Blocking cookies may stop parts of the shop from working.
6. Your rights and how to contact us
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted.
Retention. We keep personal information only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry or contract, or as the law requires.
Security. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights under POPIA. You may request access to your information, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
Changes. We may update this policy; the version on our website applies.
